In the Mirror or Naked?

by Charlie Carroll

Every morning, something has you standing in front of that mirror, armed with an arsenal of beauty products, brushes, and maybe even a little prayer. You paint, puff, and perfect every inch, making sure that reflection is nothing short of spectacular. But here's the million-dollar question: Would you rather look better in the mirror or naked?

Think about it. We've all been conditioned by glossy magazine covers and social media influencers to believe that beautiful is just a purchase away. The latest cream, injection, or (photoshopped) picture promises us beauty, but at what cost? It’s like putting a designer outfit on over Spanx and calling it a day. Sure, you look great, but what happens when the Spanx come off?

Let’s Get Naked

Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate feeling good about how I look in the mirror as much as anyone. But maybe it’s time we rethink what being “beautiful” truly means. Could it be time to embrace the quirks and imperfections that make us uniquely us? The freckles, the laugh lines, the stretch marks—they all tell the stories of our experiences and lives.

Can we break free from the mirror's tyranny and redefine beauty? What kind of peace and joy could come from embracing your naked self—nothing added, nothing taken away.
